Summer is here! I’m loving the fact that we don’t have to worry about putting on coats, gloves, hats, or scarfs to stay warm. All you need is some flip-flops and you are good to go. When it’s super warm outside, I’ve noticed that I crave lighter cooler foods to enjoy. And, popsicles are the perfect snack to cool off.
They are easy to make with a blender or magic bullet. You just cut up any kind of fruit into small pieces, put in your blender on high for about a minute, and then pour into ice cubes trays. Put the ice cube trays in the freezer for 20 minutes then take out and add the sticks. Freeze again for 3-4 hours. Whalaa! You have the perfect fun summer snack that is nutritious for you and your kids.
Plus another bonus about popsicles is that they make great teethers for toddlers. As a new parent I’m always trying to come up with creative ways to help my son with teething. There are many teething devices to give your kid, but I find making these popsicles really help. We make all kinds pineapple, cantaloup, and watermelon. Our son loves them and enjoys them throughout the day.
